Located in leafy Crouch End, this roof extension and renovation project is all about creating an outdoor roof garden for a large top floor apartment. 

Internal refurbishments have reconfigured the lower level into 3 large bedrooms, to create a large and airy upper floor living room. The extension accommodates a new kitchen with clerestory glazing and attractive open shelving, and a breakfast bar. This makes an excellent space for home working, and is connected directly to the terrace through large opening windows. The kitchen flows out onto the terrace, a large outdoor suntrap and screened for privacy. 

Simple robust details, and a new dormer better insulate the house and the expressed structure creates beautiful play of light and shadow whilst extending the ceiling height. Internally, the staircase design is opened up, with new rooflights to flood the centre of the house with light.
