This fantastic house, comprises a of 3 elements, a Georgian cottage, contemporary 'pavilion' and beautiful landscape gardens thoughtfully connected with glazed links and natural light.
The elements of the project are deliberately distinct in their materials. The cottage preserves its original materials, character and proportion. The new pavilion combines clean white render with locally sourced sweet chestnut cladding, and the glass link clearly differentiates between old and new.
As project architect, George undertook extensive negotiations with the local planning authority, with careful consideration of the Grade II listed status and conservation area, in order to secure permission to modernise the home.
